How to Start a Business from Scratch

If you want to start a Business from Scratch there are a few key things that you need to know to ensure that your Business will be a success.

First off, you need to realise that all Businesses go through different stages of evolution, so it makes sense that there are certain steps and actions that you need to take at each stage of your Business life-cycle. 

From my own experience, running several successful businesses, over the past 17 years, I have developed a proven Business Success Path, which clearly outlines the key steps that all successful Businesses must take to start, launch and grow.

When starting a Business, it's important to understand the different stages of business evolution and growth so that you build your business on solid foundations:

Foundation Stage

At this stage you are aware that you want to make changes in your life and you have a deep emotional committment to do whatever is necessary to create the success and freedom in your life that you desire. Even, if at this stage you don't know what to do or how to go about it.

At this stage of business evolution, your efforts will be foccussed on activities such as, identifying business opportunities, testing business concepts, market research and writing a business plan etc. 

Evolution Stage

At this stage, you will have identified a business idea or opportunity and you now want to take the initial steps of transforming that idea into a firm business reality.

So at this stage you will be focussed on company formation and ensuring that your new business has a good foundation from which to propser and grow.  Your primary efforts will be focussed on choosing a legal structure, registering your Business, opening bank accounts, insuring your business and ensuring that you are complying with relevant business legislation.

You will also use the information gathered in your Market Research and Business Planning process, to develop a Branding Strategy and create a Marketing Plan. 

From here, you can then move forward with the task of creating the visual and physical aspects of your business, developing your products & services, desigining your website and marketing materials and launching your new Business to the world!

Growth Stage

At this stage, you have officiallly formed your Business and created your initial online presence, but you now need to identify, find, attract and engage potential customers, by implementing marketing strategies to attract and grow your audience.

You're business and marketing activities at this stage, should be geared to towards, developing your list building strategy and defining your Social Media, Content and Digital Marketing Strategy and deciding upon other methods of generating traffic and attracting customers.

Expansion Stage

At this stage, you will have grown your Business to a level that is generating consistent sales, but at the cost of your time.  You may find yourself so busy 'working in your business' that you have no time to leverage or scale your Business.

Therefore, at this stage, your efforts will focussed on taking on staff, systems and automation, so that you can take on a more strategic role within your Business to take it to the next level.
